An almost one mile public promenade is the first phase of an ongoing revitalization of the Los Angeles Waterfront.  Shaw & Sons installed Craftsmen Large Ground Profile Finish in natural gray cement and large white marble within the 30-foot wide thoroughfare.  The white marble increases the solar reflectance of the paving, creating a cooler pedestrian surface.  The acid profiling that is integral to the Craftsmen Large Ground Profile Specification creates a non-slip surface even though the surface is ground flat, similar to terrazzo.  The smooth profile guarantees a low maintenance paving that protects the Port of LA's investment.
